Dr. Dahlberg has more than 20 years of experience in higher education and a proven track record of success. She is lauded for her support of student success and undergraduate research, for attracting high-achieving students, as well as for inclusive initiatives designed to benefit both faculty and students. Before coming to TCU in 2019, she served as dean for the College of Engineering and Computer Science at Syracuse University, where she launched a strategic plan and advancement plan focused on student experience, research, and diversity and inclusion.

Before her position at Syracuse, Dr. Dahlberg served as chief academic officer and dean of engineering at the renowned Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, and associate dean of the College of Computing and Informatics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. While in Charlotte, Dr. Dahlberg co-founded and directed the STARS Computing Corps, a National Science Foundation Alliance that engaged over 50 colleges and universities in service-learning to broaden participation; she initiated a campus-wide first-year student experience focused on intentionality; and she founded and led the Diversity in Information Technology Institute, an action research center that strengthened the STEM pipeline from K-12 to the professoriate. She began her professional career as an engineer with the IBM Corporation.

Dr. Dahlberg has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and earned both a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University.
